Theater Mu is proud to announce our “THRIVE Campaign”

We are asking you to help us achieve our goals and ensure that Theater Mu can continue promoting arts, equity, and justice through the lens of Asian American theater while standing in solidarity with all underrepresented voices.

For the past five months, Mu has been adapting and engaging with the ever-changing world around us. Though challenging, we have discovered innovative and exhilarating ways to support, empower, and entertain audiences and communities both locally and nationally.

Our accomplishments this season and the work we will continue to do:

  • 131 artists paid for their work with Mu, including the company of FAST COMPANY presented at the Guthrie and our virtual Variety Show.

  • 1,348 audience members attended our production of PEERLESS, Lily Tung Crystal’s Twin Cities directorial debut.

  • 11 Mu-tini Hour online hangouts and 7 virtual Family Explorations with over 137,000 views.

  • 11 Mu Monday virtual table readings and 5 community gatherings to provide a safe and healing space for 500+ Asian American artists as a response to COVID-related racism and isolation.

  • 3 commissioned plays co-written by local Black and Asian playwrights.

  • 3 additions to the #MuSquad.

  • 90+ events and articles shared on our social media regarding the rise of discrimination towards Asian Americans, resources for those affected by COVID-19 and social unrest, and fight against anti-Blackness.

But the work isn’t over. Here are our goals:

We want to end the season strong by raising $20,000 by the end of the month. Our goals also include carrying your energy into our next season by welcoming 100 season subscribers, 25 Monthly Mu-vers, and 10 Mu Champions.

We can only achieve the goals of this campaign with YOUR help. If you enjoy the work Theater Mu has been doing, we hope you will join us as we continue the work in our 2020/21 season and beyond. Stand beside Mu, and stand up for underrepresented voices by MAKING A DONATION, in any amount, by August 31.

We are not trying to just survive; we are asking you to help us THRIVE!

With love,

Theater Mu
