Beginning in the mountains of Laos, the world premiere of Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay’s Kung Fu Zombies Saga first follows Akha shaman Arun from girlhood as she grapples with her spiritual gifts, the demons that follow her, and the monsters emerging from within the mountains. Then in Act Two, Lao American Sika is on a quest to release her dead parents’ ashes in her Motherland—however, her journey from Minneapolis to Laos isn’t without its challenges.
