Apr 19 | HMong Futures Letterpress Printing Event

Take home HMong Futures’ messages of healing, belonging, and connection with a free, family-friendly event with the Minnesota Center for the Book Arts! Drop in anytime Apr 19 from noon-1:30 pm CT at the Mu Community Room (755 Prior Ave N, Saint Paul) to create your own poster. After, consider heading to our 2 pm matinee of HMong Futures: The Future of Us, by Katie Ka Vang.

Letterpress printing has empowered people to connect and communicate with others since the invention of movable type in China (Northern Song dynasty, 1041) and Korea (Goryeo dynasty, 1377), and the printing press in Germany (1440). More recently, activists and artists have used printing methods and equipment to empower movements and express personal narratives around the world!

Apr 25 | Little Learners: Create-a-Costume

Mu is heading to Saint Paul’s libraries to read Asian American storybooks and talk about the fun and importance of costumes! Join our teaching artists and become a costume designer for a day through our arts and crafts activity. Geared toward infants through preschoolers, 10:30-11:30 am at St. Anthony Park Public Library. Apr 9-30 on Thursdays | Intro to Theater Storytelling with Theater Mu

Theater Mu is partnering with Queerspace Collective to present a series of free workshops for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-17! Expect theater games, storytelling, and finding pride in identity as we work on theatrical skills and co-write stories about what it means to be 2SLGBTQIA+. Learn more & sign up.
