INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL THEATER

with KATIE BRADLEY

SINGING WITH BOTH ARTISTRY AND VIRTUOSITY

Do you love musical theater? Do you love to sing but lack the confidence to audition for a show? In this class, we will be interpreting and rehearsing songs and scenes found in the musical theater canon. Working with an accompanist, we will look at vocal technique and focus on bringing out the meaning within the lyrics. We will also touch upon preparing an audition book and beginning movement techniques (for those daunting dance calls). While the class is called an “introduction to musical theater,” if you’re beyond the introductory level, instruction will be tailored so you can hone your skills further.

Enrollment is limited to 10 participants first come, first serve. To register, fill out our form: It contains both the registration link as well as questions to help us best prepare the course.

Student Testimony

“The intention and energy that Katie brought every day to class, even if she just got a flat tire minutes before class, always grounded me. The daily check-in with the class right before the lesson was meaningful. I felt safe, seen, and valued just by being in the space. This allowed me to be vulnerable, brave, and confident to create, learn, and perform alongside new faces. … I appreciate that Katie Bradley’s class was my first experience with Theater Mu. It left a great impression, and I look forward to growing as an artist with Theater Mu’s staff, offerings, and opportunities.”
