SEEKING

Seeking actors for Diana Son’s Stop Kiss. AEA minimum is $605 per week, and non-AEA actors will be paid a minimum of $15 per hour, or equivalent rate. All roles are local contracts.

SYNOPSIS

Sara and Callie's first kiss should have been the start to a new romance. Instead, their lives changed in ways neither could have predicted. Jumping backward and forward in time, the two are forced to look at the little moments that built their relationship and decide if they were meant to be or if they should cut their losses. Don’t miss this Obie- and GLAAD Media Award-winning play by Diana Son!

REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE DATES

  • First Rehearsal: May 12 or 13, 2025

  • Tech Rehearsals: June 3-14, 2025

  • Previews: June 12 & 13, 2025

  • Opening Night: June 14, 2025

  • Closing Performance: June 29, 2025

Rehearsals will take place at the Mu Studio (755 Prior Ave. N, #107, Saint Paul), with tech rehearsals and performances at Gremlin Theatre (550 Vandalia St., #177, Saint Paul).

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Callie - Asian American, Pacific Islander, or Native Hawaiian. Late 20s to early 30s.

Sara - Asian American, Pacific Islander, or Native Hawaiian. Mid-20s to early 30s.

George - BIPOC. Late 20s to early 30s.

Peter - BIPOC. Mid-20s to early 30s.

Mrs. Winsley/Nurse - BIPOC. Mrs. Winsley is early 40s to early 50s, while the nurse is late 30s to mid-40s.

Detective Cole - BIPOC. Late 30s to mid-40s.

WHAT TO SUBMIT & PREPARE

  1. Fill out our audition form, which will also ask you to send over your headshot and resume to info@theatermu.org.

  2. Sign up for in-person auditions at our SignUpGenius. In-person auditions are Dec 8 from 11 am-4 pm CT and Dec 9 from 5-10 pm at the Mu Studio (755 Prior Ave. N, #107, Saint Paul).   3. Acting sides are available in this folder. Please prep for all interested roles, but come ready to identify and audition for your first choice.Callbacks will be invite only and will take place Dec 15 from 11 am-4 pm CT at the Mu Studio.

  4. If you cannot make it in person, please submit a video to info@theatermu.org with the recorded acting side for your most desired role by Dec 9 at 10 pm CT.
